MACHO MAN is a documentary theater installation-performance which tackles the problem of patriarcal violences.
MACHO MAN is an experimental journey. At the crossroads of performance, visual arts, psychology and documentation, it seeks to provoke reaction, empathy, and to raise awareness.
MACHO MAN is an interactive experience. The audience, accompanied by an audioguide system, walks through the different spaces of the installation and become themselves an actor of their visit.
MACHO MAN is an ensemble of images, of sensations and experiments. A 60 minutes journey which puts us, with relevance and power, in front of the patriarcal violences which exist within domestic, professional, social and judiciary circles.
MACHO MAN will be presented for free by Latitudes Contemporaines in partnership with LE GRAND SUD, Lille and the Lycée Jacques Le Caron in Arras in November 2021.

MACHO MAN  contains real testimonies of sexist violences, which can trigger the sensitivity of some people. A process of psychological support will be available at the exit of the installation, built up with the local associations working on the questions of sexist violences.

The times indicated correspond to the audience’s departure in the installation. Every 8 minutes, a group of 6 people will be able to get in. The visit then takes around 50 minutes.

THE COMPANY
This theatre company is born with the spirit of giving back to the theatre that thing for which it has persisted all these years, the desire to confront the public with the values of our contemporary society, with the values of the human being, therefore, with the values of one’s self. And we hope to do with the desire to investigate new forms of scenic narration and unite them with our love of literature, music and the visual arts. When we ask ourselves why we go to the theatre or why we do theatre, the answer always ends up being the same: to know better the human being and this desire is directly linked to the desire for knowledge of ourselves. It is to suppose (impossible to certify) that this will is due to a desire to improve as a person. The fact of confronting us forces us to a personal growth that can only benefit society. But this confrontation is always difficult and ends up producing changes of breathing, laughter and tears, an unmistakable sign that something is happening.
