Prieur de la Marne reinterprets the classic “Salomé” by Charles Bryant (1923).

This claustrophobic movie with delirious costumes retraces Salome’s few last hours, Princess of Judea, and of the Prophet Saint John the Baptist.

At the end of an orgiastic meal, the Emperor invites Salomé to dance with him. She accepts, in exchange for a favor: she wants to have Saint John the Baptists’ head…
