Partout le feu

Partout le feu is the raw, passionate text by Hélène Laurain, staged by Hubert Colas and performed by the magnificent Stéphanie Aflalo. A breathtaking solo which plunges us into the center of an anxious generation’s need to rebel, ready to do whatever it takes to spark the beginning of another future.

Laetitia was born three minutes before her twin sister Margaux, and also 37 minutes before the Chernobyl explosion. She lives in Lorraine, where the State has decided to bury all of the country’s radioactive waste. Somewhere between drunken celebrations and lightning raids, she and her gang– Taupe, Fauteur, Thelma and, Dédé – organize a spectacular sabotage, a prelude to an enormous final fire. A raging fire which will destroy as much as it illuminates. In a flowing stream-of-consciousness language, as taut as a high tension line, Partout le feu displays the violence of a declining world and the powerful desire to bring about an impossible reconciliation. Standing alone onstage is Stéphanie Aflalo, a peerless speaker and performer, navigating fiercely between anger, vulnerability and a biting irony. A searing immersion into the torments and hopes of a young generation, which when facing catastrophe, chooses to embrace the flames, to spark a new life.
