Music All is a reversal of the codes of the stage, of entertainment, and of the bodies we have chosen to display under the lights. A show which includes subtle, sudden humor, at the crossroads of these three unique directors who are obsessed with music hall.
We know each of them separately, but Music All is their first collaboration: Jonathan Capdevielle, Marco Berrettini and Jérôme Marin work in very distinct areas, but they share a mutual passion for music hall as a genre. This is a droll, sensitive, lively work which includes songs by Michael Jackson remixed into bossa nova, by Mylène Farmer with an Italian overlay, and Whitney Houston teetering on the edge of burn out. In a set channeling an obscure highway rest stop, a slew of slightly twisted characters attempt, with varying degrees of success, to find their moment of glory — which of course does not come. Sequins, dancing, singing, live music, all revealing a relatively obscure side of what we call entertainment, showing us the human fragility and perversity of show business.

Italian dancer and choreographer Marco Berrettini was born in 1963 in Aschaffenburg, Germany. His interest in dancing began in discos. In 1978, he won the German Disco Dance Championship. Based on this experience, he attended lessons in jazz, modern and classical ballet. At the age of 17, he began his professional dance training, first at the London School of Contemporary Dance and then at the Folkwangschulen Essen under the guidance of Hans Züllig and Pina Bausch. There he developed his interest in Tanztheater and started as a choreographer. Following his training, he tried to set up his own company in Wiesbaden.
To accompany his attempts to make a name for himself as a choreographer, he studied European Ethnology, Cultural Anthropology and Theatre Science at the University of Frankfurt for two years. In 1988 he moved to France to work with the choreographer Georges Appaix and in parallel created his own pieces. In 1999 the Kampnagel in Hamburg produced his show MULTI(S)ME.
Since then, Marco Berrettini has produced some thirty shows with his company. With Sturmwetter prepares the year of Emil, he won the ZKB prize at the Theaterspektakel in Zurich. Since 2004 he has created, among others, No Paraderan, *Melk Prod. goes to New Orleans (2007), iFeel (2009), iFeel2 (2012), iFeel3 (2016), iFeel4 (2017) and My soul is my Visa (2018). In 2019, he will reprise Sorry, do the tour. Again! following a commission from the CND – Pantin. In 2020, he will take up No Paraderan following a commission from the Théâtre des Amandiers, CDN de Nanterre. Marco Berrettini’s work ranges from performances in museums to collaborations with film directors, from installations with visual artists to dinners with famous people who don’t know him.

Born in 1976, Jonathan Capdevielle, trained at the École supérieure nationale des arts de la marionnette, is a director, actor, puppeteer, ventriloquist, dancer and singer. He has taken part in several creations under the direction of Lotfi Achour, Marielle Pinsard, David Girondin Moab, Yves-Noël Genod and Vincent Thomasset, among others. He has worked with Gisèle Vienne since the beginning of their collaboration and has been a performer in almost all her shows.
After creating a few events/performances, he started to develop his own work, which mixes autofiction, narratives and intimate stories, relying on imitation and references from popular culture. In 2007, he created the performance Jonathan Covering at the Tanz im August Festival in Berlin, the starting point for his piece Adishatz/Farewell, created in 2009. With Saga (2015), Jonathan Capdevielle opened a new chapter in autobiographical narrative by working on episodes from the family novel. In 2017, as part of his association with the Quai d’Angers, he proposed the Cabaret Apocalypse, a project for which he invited professional and amateur artists from the Anjou area from different disciplines, as well as a core group of artists with whom he is used to working. His last two plays are adaptations: in 2017, A nous deux maintenant, adapted from the novel Un Crime by Georges Bernanos, and in 2019 Rémi, based on Sans famille by Hector Malot.
Jonathan Capdevielle is an associate artist at the Centre Dramatique National d’Orléans and the Théâtre Garonne – Scène européenne, Toulouse.
Born in Orléans, Jérôme Marin spent several years at the Conservatoire National de Région d’Orléans. His work quickly turned towards cabaret, especially the world of Karl Valentin. In 2001, his desire to sing gave rise to the character of Monsieur K., who will evolve alone or in a group, and for whom he writes most of the songs. He works with several companies on different projects as an actor, including Entre les murs by François Bégaudeau, directed by François Wastiaux. Then in 2011, he returned to the world of cabaret and worked on several forms mixing dance and song with choreographers such as François Chaignaud, Daniel Larrieu, Marianne Baillot. In 2015, he participated in the reopening of the Parisian cabaret Madame Arthur, and took over the artistic direction of its troupe. In 2018, he takes his freedom to imagine or participate in new projects always around the cabaret and French song, including his monthly Parisian rendezvous: the cabaret LE SECRET.
