Formlessness
“My style, my way, my material.
As a young dancer of the new HipHop generation, everything seems to be transformed: the way we behave, our influences and the way we learn to dance. The development of our practices is parallel to that of technology, and social networks are invading our way of evolving. We are divided between several dimensions, physical and virtual.
How do social networks influence our relationship to movement, to dance,
to culture, to each other and to our solitude? This is the idea behind
this solo is based on. The desire to explore all these questions through my body.
To experience an individual detached from all these ties.”
By linking freestyle to digital arts, costume to scenography, music to images, Solen Athanassopoulos travels in FormLessNess through different states of the body. She gives life to the ties that bind her to the outside world in order to better undo them: from form to formlessness, she progressively moves towards a dance turned inwards.
