Yuval Rozman
    Biography

    After studying at the Nisan Nativ National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Tel-Aviv and in New York, Yuval Rozman (born 1984) created the Voltaire Ensemble in 2010 and began to develop his own works, which have been presented in France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Israel.

    His piece Cabaret Voltaire (2011), with Palestinian actor Mohammad Bakri, received the commendations of the jury and the 1st Prize at the C.A.T. International Theatre Festival in Bat-Yam: Best Piece, Best Direction, Best Original Music, and Best Choreography. He collaborates with internationally active choreographers, directors, and visual artists. At the Festival actOral (Marseille), he directed Sight Is the Sense… by Tim Etchells with Laetitia Dosch in 2014 and in 2013 Jecroisenunseuldieu by S. Massini. He assisted Hubert Colas’s direction of Nécessaire et urgent by Annie Zadek (2104).

    He collaborated additionally with Laetitia Dosch on Un Album, which he co-directed after having assisted in the writing of the text. In 2015 he appeared in Mélanie Leray’s adaption of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew at the Théâtre National de Bretagne/Rennes and at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, as well as in Martin Crimp’s Face au mur directed by H.Colas. He is currently playing in Une mouette et autres cas d’espèces, directed by Hubert Colas.

    In film he has worked with such directors as Lorraine Lévyon on Le Fils de l’autre (2012), Eytan Fox on Cupcakes (2013), Amir Manor on Epilogue (2013), Danny Tzur on Come to Daddy (2011) and Ariel Templer on Different Skies (2007). He played the leading role in Itamar & I, a television drama series directed by Oren Yaniv in 2007.

    As an author, he has written Cabaret Voltaire (2011) and assisted Laetitia Dosch with the writing of Un Album (2015). For the writing of Tunnel Boring Machine, he has been in residence at Marseille’s Montévidéo, at the Théâtre de Vanves, at the Chartreuse of Villeneuve-les-Avignon and at Tripostal in Lille. Tunnel Boring Machine premieres in novembre 2017 at NEXT festival in phénix, scène nationale de Valenciennes and in Maison de la Culture de Tournai. Since november 2015, he’s represented by Latitudes Prod.

      Each artist brings his or her vision of the world and invites us to question ourselves based on one of their chosen themes. Workshops are regularly scheduled in the Hauts-de-france territory.
